Form to be completed by distressed relatives of deceased officers who are applicants for relief from public funds.
NOTE.--Except in the case of widows or orphan children of officers who were contributors under the West African Widows' and Orphans' Pension Scheme, relatives of deceased officers are not entitled to any relief from public funds, but in cases of destitution, and where there are no relatives able to afford help, a small compassionate gratuity is occasionally, if the circumstances warrant it, allowed. The amount of such gratuity will not in any case exceed six months' salary of the deceased officer.
